Italy's minister of FA in Iraq

Italy's new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Massimo D'Alema, has arrived in Baghdad, where he is scheduled to meet his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, and Assembly of Deputies (Parliament) Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani. Later, minister D'Alema will travel to as-Sulaymaniyah/Silêmanî, where he is bound to meet Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.
The meetings will focus on the timeline details of the withdrawal of Italian troops from Iraq.
D'Alema's visit to Iraq comes a few hours after an insurgent attack against the Italian contingent in Dhi Qar province, where one soldier was killed. Thirty-eight Italian nationals (including seven civilians) have died as a result of a military expedition that some people still desire to describe as a "peace operation".
