Lebanese popstar Nancy Ajram

Lebanese icon pop singer Nancy Ajram (although she sings in Egyptian dialect) was born in Achrafieh, Beirut on May 16, 1983.
She began her career with successful participations in children's contests in two local television channels, Télé Liban and LBC. At the age of twelve, she made her debut in a program called Nujum al-Mustaqbal ("Future stars") which was aired on late Rafiq al-Hariri's Future Television.

Nancy Ajram launched her first album Mihtagalak ("In need of you") in 1998, followed in 2001 by Shil 'ayyunak anni ("Take your eyes away from me"). In 2003, she came out with her third album, Ya salaam ("How beautiful") which included the landmark hit Akhasmak ah.
Her most successful hit, however, was the fourth album Ah w noss, which was released in 2004. It includes enthralling singles such as Ah W Noss, Lawn Ouyounak and Inta Eyh.

In 2005, Nancy Ajram, who stars in Coca-Cola's ads throughout many Arab countries, was named by the Arabic version of Newsweek as one of the most influential personalities of the Arab world in 2005.
